Cork City in Ireland will be the place to be on Saturday the 20th of July, as Ireland’s Sean Clancy will square off against Italy’s Alessandro Sara for the vacant World Boxing Council MuayThai super-lightweight world title.

Clancy, with 61 pro fights under his belt and reigning WBC MuayThai International super-lightweight champion, goes into this world title contest fresh off a massive fantastic victory over Australia’s Roy Wills, in a bruising encounter from back in March of this year.

Sara, with 77 pro fights, goes into this world title fight with high-level experience fighting at Thailand’s elite stadiums, on a regular basis: with magnificent victories at Rajadamnern, Lumpinee and Omnoi stadiums — Sara recently moved up to fight at 140Lbs, and is fresh off a tremendous points victory in Italy over over Luca Roma, last month.

On behalf of the WBC MuayThai President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, and the entire team at the World Boxing Council we wish both protagonist the best of luck for their upcoming encounter.
