Ruth Ashdown is a former WBC MuayThai multi-weight world champion and the first-ever WBC MuayThai Diamond belt champion.

The English fighter won her first WBC MuayThai world title in November, 2013, in a contest where she defeated French fighter, Lailla Akounad, via a second round TKO victory, in Copthorne, England. The win crowned her the new WBC MuayThai flyweight champion of the world.

The next journey to WBC global glory saw Ashdown move up to super-bantamweight where she squared off against Italian fighter Sveva Melillo. It was another night of shinning glory for the indomitable English fighter as she became a WBC MuayThai world champion for a second time.

The defining moment of Ruths career came on August 15th, 2018, in Hong Kong, when she became the inaugural WBC MuayThai female diamond champion, defeating Thailands Dokmaipa Kiatpompetch, to claim a piece of WBC history.

The World Boxing Council is proud to have played a part in the decorated career of a such an inspirational fighter. Ruth Ashdown will go into the MuayThai history books as one of the greatest ever champions of the WBC MuayThai.
