Sunday, May 23, 2021: The team behind the MuayThai Gala events were back in action this weekend in Nuevo León, Mexico, in what can be simply described as a sensational night of MuayThai action. The setting was sublime, an open-air event on the grounds of a pristine golf course, a live stream with a global audience, and fights that showcased true Mexican warriors — MuayThai style. Gilberto García showed why he is one of, if not the country’s top welterweight fighters as he successfully retained his WBC MuayThai Mexico welterweight title after a dominant performance over his opponent, Brody Tavares, winning via technical knockout. Victoria Alba made MuayThai history as she became the first-ever WBC MuayThai Mexico female champion, capturing the country’s featherweight championship strap after defeating Mariana Ramirez in a fantastically competitive matchup Erwin Greco made his dreams come to reality as he become the new WBC MuayThai Mexico super-bantamweight champion when he overcame the sting challenge of Manuel Jasso to claim the domestic WBC MuayThai glory. On behalf of WBC MuayThai President Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, and the entire WBC MuayThai family, we congratulate all of the champions and everyone who played a part in the success of this great event. A special word of thanks to Julio Gamboa and his team for their continued endeavors to promote the sport and culture of MuayThai in Mexico. And last but not least, a big thank you to Mongkol9 for supporting the event.
