A new WBC Australian Featherweight Champion was crowned in Cairns last night, as Matty Clarke produced a determined late rally to defeat former champion Cale Wild in the final round of their title clash at the Explosive Fight Promotions event.

The contest was closely contested throughout, with both fighters showing strong technical skill and competitive intensity. Wild, the former champion, displayed composure and experience in the early rounds, working effectively behind his movement and shot selection. Clarke, however, remained persistent, applying pressure and gradually increasing the tempo as the bout progressed.

Entering the fifth and final round with the contest still in the balance, Clarke dug deep and unleashed a decisive surge of offense. With the momentum shifting clearly in his favor, he forced a late stoppage, leaving no doubt as the referee stepped in to call an end to the fight.

The victory crowns Matty Clarke as the new WBC Australian Featherweight Champion — a testament to his resilience, endurance, and ability to perform in the most crucial moments.

A memorable night for Australian MuayThai and a performance Clarke can proudly carry forward in his championship reign.
