On the first Friday of every month, a panel convenes.

Muay Thai journalists.
Eminent gym owners.
Industry insiders.

They meet to evaluate the sport.

Because fighters win.
Fighters lose.
And every result matters.

Every month, performances are reviewed. Adjusted. Debated. Rankings are not automatic.
They are earned.

It is part science.

Win: you move up.
Lose: you move down.

It is part art.

Who did you fight? Where did you fight? How did you win? How active are you? Was the performance dominant  or narrow?

Through consistency and scrutiny, a system is formed.

A system that gives structure to ambition.

Divisional Structure

The WBC Muay Thai rankings currently include:

  • 17 men’s divisions, ranging from 105 lbs to 200 lbs.
    Each division ranks 20 athletes.
  • 11 women’s divisions, ranging from 100 lbs to 147 lbs.
Each division ranks between 12 and 20 athletes.

Every division represents a global field. Every ranking carries consequence.

Because before a fighter can challenge for green and gold they must first enter the conversation.

So how do you get recognized by the WBC Muay Thai? What are the pathways to success? Tune in tomorrow as we answer just that.
