May 16, 2926: Imrane Iklil of the Netherlands captured the WBC MuayThai Professional Male Bantamweight European championship with a unanimous decision victory over Italy’s Simone Paulello at the MTGP Malta event in Ta’ Qali, Malta.
The European championship contest delivered high-level action and showcased the skill, determination, and heart of both athletes inside the ring. Iklil produced a composed and technically sharp performance throughout the bout, using his movement, timing, and effective striking to earn the unanimous decision victory against the tough and competitive Italian challenger.
Paulello also delivered a spirited performance and pushed the pace throughout the contest in what proved to be an exciting European title encounter for the fans in attendance at the Ta’ Qali Basketball Pavilion.
The championship bout took place on May 16, 2026, as part of the MTGP Malta promotion organised by Calvin Dean Caruana Triccas under the supervision of Federico Mazza.
