The inaugural WBC MuayThai Championship of Afghanistan 2026 concluded successfully in Mazar-i-Sharif, representing an important milestone in the continued growth of MuayThai in the country.
Held under the authority of the WBC MuayThai Federation of Afghanistan, the three-day championship brought together approximately 200 athletes from across the nation. Despite operating with limited resources, the event demonstrated a strong commitment to professionalism and the continued development of the sport.
The tournament was hosted in a fully equipped indoor arena with spectator seating and featured a panel of 15 officials overseeing the competition. Medical personnel remained on duty throughout the event, security arrangements ensured a safe environment, and WBC MuayThai rules and regulations were consistently applied. Equipment manufactured in Afghanistan also proved to be of a high standard, reflecting the federation’s commitment to delivering a quality championship.
One of the most impressive aspects of the event was the atmosphere of mutual respect displayed by athletes, coaches, and spectators. Even when decisions were closely contested, the championship was conducted in a spirit of sportsmanship, with no disputes or disturbances.
Looking ahead, the Afghan federation aims to build on this success by organizing its first international WBC MuayThai tournament, inviting athletes from neighboring countries to compete and further strengthen regional cooperation.
The successful staging of the inaugural WBC MuayThai Championship of Afghanistan is a testament to the dedication of the federation, its officials, volunteers, and athletes, and represents another positive step in the global expansion of WBC MuayThai.
