Friday, June 11, 2021: A delegation from the WBC MuayThai and key stakeholders from the African MuayThai industry paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady of Ivory Coast, today, in Abidjan.
The country’s First Lady, Dominique Folloroux-Ouattara, gave the delegation a warm welcome and offered encouragement to all parties involved to continue to promote the involvement in sport in the West African nation.
The delegation was led by current WBC MuayThai Africa heavyweight champion Oly Roland, a star sportsman in his home country and a fantastic role model for the youth of his nation.
The team held a second meeting of the day when they visited the countries minister of sports for a gathering to discuss the growing popularity of the sport and culture of MuayThai in Ivory Coast.
The entire WBC MuayThai team is proud of the continued endeavors of the WBC MuayThai teams in Africa, led by WBC MuayThai Africa Chairman, Hadj Bettahar.
The time for African MuayThai fighters and young athletes to rise to the global stage is coming. Next week, June 18 to be exact, one of the biggest MuayThai gala’s ever witnessed on the continent of Africa will take place in Abidjan with two WBC MuayThai International championships headlining the event.
