Sunday, August 1, 2021: The setting was picturesque under the night sky in the beautiful southern Italian city of Sorrento with the sport of MuayThai taking center stage for the weekend.
Two WBC MuayThai Italian championships headlined the sold out, open-air event, a show which highlighted everything that is good about the sport of MuayThai on a global stage.
In a mouth-watering matchup between two of Italy’s finest welterweight fighters, Alessandro Caredda overcame Pasquale Amoroso in what was a sensational and close-fought championship encounter.
It was to be Alessandro’s night of glory as he captured the stunning WBC MuayThai Italian welterweight crown.
In another intriguingly matched contest between Luca Falco and Federico Mazza, it was Falco who came out all guns blazing to capture the WBC MuayThai Italy super-lightweight strap via a 1st round TKO victory.
The established star of Italian MuayThai left no doubt in the minds of those in attendance that he is the fighter to beat at 63.5kgs in Italy.
On behalf of WBC MuayThai President Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, and the entire WBC MuayThai family, we congratulate our new champions, their teams, the promoters, Sorrento Boxing Club, and all of the fighters for showcasing another night of top MuayThai action in Italy.
