Sunday, March 27, 2022: Following the outcome of the WBC MuayThai super-featherweight world title contest that took place in Tenerife on March 20, 2022, in which Spain’s Isaac Araya was declared as the winner on the day, the WBC MuayThai world championship committee received an appeal by the team of Italian fighter Carmelo Ragona.
The outcome of such appeal was unanimous in the fact that all three members of the WBC MuayThai world championship appeals committee scored the contest in favor of Carmelo Ragona, resulting in the WBC MuayThai overturning the original result to a NO CONTEST and ordering an immediate rematch for the vacant WBC MuayThai super-featherweight title between Isaac Araya and Carmelo Ragona.
The committee is led by Ajarn Thawuth Pluemsamran, the chairman of the WBC MuayThai ring officials committee. The official result of the contest which took place on March 20, 2022 is officially recognized as a NO CONTEST on the grounds of an error in judgment by the judges scoring the contest at the arena in Tenerife.
