A press conference was held today, March 24, at the WBC offices in Bangkok to promote the festival with keynote speeches from WBC MuayThai President Colonel Thanapol Bhakdibhumi, Italian Ambassador to Thailand, HE Paolo Dionisi, and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Deputy Governor, Khun Siripakorn Cheawsamoot.

All three gentlemen shared a similar sentiment, MuayThai is a now global sport, the people of Thailand’s national sport, which has now reached an international audience thanks in part to decades of hard work by members of the WBC MuayThai in Thailand and around the world under the guidance of lifetime WBC MuayThai President Police General Kovid Bhakdibhumi.

The festival, which will take place amidst the stunning backdrop of magical Venice, is a collaboration between many important figures from Venice, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and the WBC MuayThai.

Also present at today’s gathering were six young aspiring MuayThai athletes from Thailand who have been selected on merit to represent the WBC MuayThai Thailand at the festival, where they will have the opportunity of a lifetime to make memories out of the ring.
