Sunday, December 1, 2024: last night’s Power of Scotland show in Glasgow delivered a night of thrilling MuayThai action, culminating in the crowning of two new WBC MuayThai European Champions.
In the WBC MuayThai Super Welterweight European Title bout, Scotland’s Adam Wadha showcased relentless aggression and devastating power. The turning point came in the second round when Wadha unleashed a series of vicious left body hooks that his opponent, Jack Maguire, could not recover from. The referee called the bout, awarding Wadha a victory via TKO. The hometown fighter now proudly holds the WBC MuayThai Super Welterweight European Title, a testament to his skill and determination.
The WBC MuayThai Featherweight European Title fight delivered an equally compelling narrative. Ireland’s Yassin Ali put on a masterclass of technical MuayThai, demonstrating precision, timing, and versatility. His opponent, Ross Trainer, remained a dangerous threat throughout, but Yassin consistently stayed a step ahead. After a sensational contest, Ali earned a unanimous decision victory, securing the championship and bringing glory back to his team at Origins MuayThai.
These two electrifying bouts highlight the exceptional talent emerging in European MuayThai. Congratulations to Adam Wadha and Yassin Ali on their hard-earned victories and their new status as WBC MuayThai European Champions.
A final word of gratitude to Gary O’Brien and his team at Power of Scotland for hosting the championship showdowns and a special for Hilary Mack and his continued support and dedication to the sport of MuayThai.
