The WBC MuayThai Ring Officials Workshop held in Cairns this past weekend was met with fantastic feedback from all participants. The course, hosted by highly respected senior WBC official Soraya Hamami, was a valuable opportunity to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of MuayThai officials in Australia.
Education, monitoring, and continued development of ring officials remain a cornerstone of the WBC MuayThai’s mission. The stronger and more knowledgeable our officials become, the safer and better the sport will be for athletes, coaches, and fans alike.
Reflecting on the event, Hamami expressed her gratitude:
“Thank you and well done to everyone who took part in the WBC Officials Course in Cairns yesterday! I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to travel around Australia as a WBC official — sharing the knowledge I’ve gained over the years while also learning from the valuable experiences of others. Whether fighters, coaches, or officials, the group showed such great energy and a genuine willingness to learn and grow.”
The success of the workshop was made possible by the support of key partners. A special thank you goes to Kiri and Chris of Explosivefightpromotions for their efforts in organizing, as well as Fusionfightandfitnesstully for generously opening their gym to host the course.
The Cairns event was another important step in the WBC MuayThai’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest standards of officiating worldwide — a mission that benefits the sport at every level, from grassroots to world championship bouts.
