Miriam Nakamoto is a former WBC MuayThai lightweight world champion. She became champion on December 11th, 2010, in Haikou, China, where she defeated Luxembourg fighter, Claire Haigh. The American fighters night of WBC global glory was made possible after she scored a devastating first round TKO victory.

In 2013, Nakamoto defended her world title against Dutch fighter, Aleide Lawant, on a WCK promoted event in California, USA. She claimed a unanimous points victory in what turned out to be her last professional MuayThai contest.

The World Boxing Council is proud that Miriam Nakamoto became the first American female to win a WBC MuayThai world title. Our organization is delighted to induct her into the WBC MuayThai Hall of Fame.
