Uniting the World Through MuayThai
July was another action-packed month for WBC MuayThai, featuring championship contests, international development programmes and important preparations for upcoming events across the global MuayThai community.
From New York and Jersey to Singapore, Brazil and the United Kingdom, athletes continued to represent the values of respect, honour, tradition and excellence while new opportunities were created for youth, amateur and professional competitors.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GLORY IN NEW YORK
The Warriors Cup delivered an outstanding evening of international MuayThai action in New York City on July 24.
In the featured WBC MuayThai Bantamweight World Championship contest, American challenger Amy Duke produced a composed and determined performance to defeat Canada’s Morgan Mary-Pouliot by unanimous decision.
Following five competitive rounds between two of the leading athletes in the division, Duke was crowned the new WBC MuayThai Bantamweight World Champion.
The event also witnessed the crowning of the inaugural WBC MuayThai Siam Warriors Champion.
American fighter Stavone Warren secured the championship following a closely contested points victory over Australia’s Eddie Farrell. After five demanding rounds, the judges scored the contest three rounds to two in favour of Warren.
The Warriors Cup once again demonstrated the continued growth and strength of elite MuayThai throughout the United States.
NEW ENGLISH CHAMPIONS CROWNED IN JERSEY
Jersey hosted an excellent weekend of championship MuayThai, with two new WBC MuayThai English champions crowned.
Kimberley Noel overcame a determined challenge from Jane Iske to capture the WBC MuayThai English Women’s Featherweight Championship.
Both athletes entered the contest ranked among the leading fighters in their division and produced a highly competitive performance. Noel’s consistent work, composure and technical ability earned her a unanimous decision victory.
In the WBC MuayThai English Super-Lightweight Championship, Justin Davy delivered an impressive performance against Russ Hayes.
Davy used his timing, movement, powerful kicks and effective counterattacks to control the contest. Hayes continued to apply pressure throughout the five rounds, but Davy remained composed and secured a unanimous 50–45 victory on all three judges’ scorecards.
MUAYTHAI MASTERCLASS AT LONDON THAI FEST
WBC MuayThai supported the continued promotion of authentic MuayThai culture and education at London Thai Fest on July 18.
The festival featured a special MuayThai masterclass led by Jonathan Haggerty and Freddie Haggerty, providing participants with an opportunity to learn from two internationally recognised athletes.
The session formed part of a wider celebration of Thai sport, culture and tradition in the United Kingdom.
Events such as London Thai Fest play an important role in introducing MuayThai to new audiences while strengthening the connection between the sport and its Thai cultural heritage.
RISING STARS PREPARES THE NEXT GENERATION
Preparations continued throughout July for the next edition of the WBC MuayThai Rising Stars Series, scheduled to take place in West London on August 29.
The event will feature ten youth contests, providing young athletes with a professionally organised platform on which to develop their skills and gain valuable competitive experience.
Contests will be held across under-14, under-16 and under-18 divisions, with age-appropriate rules and protective equipment in place.
Up to three adult WBC MuayThai Amateur Champions Cup contests are also expected to feature on the programme.
The Rising Stars Series reflects WBC MuayThai’s commitment to creating safe, structured and meaningful pathways for the next generation of athletes.
THE ROAD TO SARDINIA BEGINS
Registration officially opened for the Amazing MuayThai European Festival 2026, which will take place from October 15–18 in Quartu Sant’Elena, Sardinia, Italy.
One of the festival’s main attractions will be the WBC MuayThai European Championships, organised as an open international championship welcoming athletes from Europe and around the world.
The four-day festival will combine elite competition, international friendship, cultural exchange and educational activities.
A special masterclass with MuayThai superstar Sittichai Sitsongpeenong will take place at Cala Serena Resort, while internationally respected cutman Pako will conduct a specialist workshop for participants.
Following successful Amazing MuayThai Festivals in Venice, Bangkok and Verona, the journey now continues to the beautiful island of Sardinia.
RISE OF THE MUAYYING ANNOUNCED
During July, plans continued for a special Halloween championship event in Thailand on October 31.
Titled Rise of the MuayYing, the event will celebrate the strength, skill and achievements of women in MuayThai.
Six championship contests are planned across WBC MuayThai World, International and MuayYing categories.
The event forms part of the wider WBC MuayYing programme, which is dedicated to increasing opportunities, visibility and recognition for female athletes throughout the sport.
Rise of the MuayYing promises to deliver a unique evening of championship action while highlighting the continued growth of women’s MuayThai around the world.
CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS IN SINGAPORE
WBC MuayThai championship activity continued in Singapore during the EFC Gala.
Yaash secured welterweight honours, while Nashwin captured the WBC MuayThai Amateur Bantamweight Championship.
Lim Yue Yang also celebrated success by winning the WBC MuayThai Amateur Lightweight Championship.
The event provided another important platform for athletes in Singapore and reflected the continued development of structured national and amateur MuayThai competition throughout the region.
AMATEUR CHAMPION CROWNED IN BRAZIL
Brazil hosted an exciting WBC MuayThai Amateur 67-kilogram Super Four tournament during July.
Four athletes entered the competition with the goal of capturing championship honours, but it was Alexandre Rodrigues who emerged victorious.
The tournament format provided an excellent showcase for developing athletes and demonstrated the growing strength of WBC MuayThai’s amateur programme in Brazil.

SUPPORTING YOUTH AND AMATEUR DEVELOPMENT
Youth and amateur development remained a central focus throughout July.
Young athletes continued to compete under structured rules designed to promote safety, technical development and responsible competition.
WBC MuayThai remains committed to ensuring that young competitors receive appropriate protection, qualified officiating and opportunities that support their long-term development.
Through initiatives such as Rising Stars, national amateur championships and youth competitions, WBC MuayThai continues to build a strong foundation for the future of the sport.
STRENGTHENING THE GLOBAL WBC MUAYTHAI COMMUNITY
July was also a month of continued cooperation between WBC MuayThai representatives, promoters, officials, gyms and national organisations.
Across multiple regions, preparations advanced for future championship events, development programmes and international festivals.
This global collaboration remains essential to maintaining consistent standards while preserving the traditions and cultural identity of MuayThai.
WBC MuayThai extends its appreciation to every athlete, coach, official, promoter, volunteer and national representative who contributed to another successful month.
LOOKING AHEAD
The coming months promise another exciting period for the worldwide WBC MuayThai community.
Major championship contests are scheduled across Asia, Europe and the Americas, alongside the WBC MuayThai Rising Stars Series, the Amazing MuayThai European Festival and the Rise of the MuayYing event in Thailand.
