A new WBC MuayThai British champion was crowned in Jersey tonight, as Victoria Smith of Blood Fitness MuayThai secured the prestigious WBC MuayThai British Super-Featherweight title with a hard-earned unanimous decision victory over Jenny Redford of Northern Kings.
The opening stages of the contest saw both fighters adopt a cautious, measured approach — testing range, timing, and each other’s intentions. It didn’t take long, however, for the bout to ignite into a spirited back-and-forth clash. Smith and Redford traded kicks and punches at distance, before frequently closing the gap into tight clinch exchanges where knees and elbows became the decisive weapons of the night.

Smith demonstrated strong ring control and composure, consistently getting the better of the exchanges in rounds 2, 3, and 5. Her pressure and clinch work stood out, allowing her to dictate the rhythm of the fight. Redford, to her credit, rallied in the fourth round and landed several sharp elbows that caused visible damage, showing her resilience and championship grit in the face of sustained pressure.
Despite the late surge from Redford, the effort proved just short, as Smith’s sustained scoring and control across the majority of the bout earned her a deserved unanimous decision victory — and with it, the coveted WBC MuayThai British crown.
A fantastic display of skill, toughness, and heart from both women — and a proud night for UK MuayThai. Congratulations to the new champion, Victoria Smith.
