August 20, 2026 — The WBC MuayThai today announces that, in mutual agreement with the organization, Niall McGreevy has voluntarily vacated his WBC MuayThai Welterweight World Championship.
Niall has made this decision due to his upcoming obligation to defend his Rajadamnern Stadium Welterweight Championship in the coming months. This commitment will not afford him the opportunity to make a further defense of his WBC MuayThai World title within the required timeframe under WBC MuayThai rules and regulations.
In the true spirit of a champion, Niall has therefore elected to relinquish the title and allow other elite, top-ranked welterweight contenders the opportunity to compete for one of the most prestigious championships in MuayThai.
Throughout his reign, Niall has represented the WBC MuayThai with tremendous pride, professionalism and distinction, both inside and outside the ring.
The WBC MuayThai wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Niall for his time as World Champion and for the exemplary manner in which he has represented the organization and the sport of MuayThai.
