Wednesday the 9th of May saw two warriors claim the vacant WBC MuayThai light-flyweight and featherweight world titles at the world famous Rajadamnern stadium in Bangkok.

Last weekend (Sunday, April 8th) in the wondrous city of Tokyo Japan, a new WBC MuayThai world champion was crowned - when the home favorite outgunned, outflanked and outthought his Thai opponent to win the vacant WBC mini-flyweight (105 lbs, 47.627 kg) world championship title.

The stage was set! The setting was the world famous Lumpinee stadium in Bangkok! Two Muay protagonists stepped over the ropes with a desire to be crowned WBC MuayThai welterweight champion of the world.

His Majesty The King of Thailand meets with the WBC President Dr. Jose Sulaiman. The historic meeting was held at the King's Palace on 22 November, 2001. Following the meeting the World Boxing Council set about to establish the WBC MUAYTHAI to rate fighters worldwide and sanction world championship events.
